Will the Third Wave Be the Charm for SAP CRM On Demand? (AMR)

SAP is making good on its promise for the last of three predetermined waves of quarterly development for the SAP CRM on-demand product. First announced in February of 2006, SAP finally jumped into the software-as-a-service (SaaS) ring. The first wave mainly addressed a limited footprint covering account and contact management functions, but at the same time SAP outlined a fairly aggressive development strategy to broaden the service to three modules by year end.

RightNow Drinking Its V8 (AMR)

RightNow Technology revealed the results of a two-year, $25M research and development investment at its recent user conference. CEO Greg Gianforte’s keynote solidified the company’s competitive direction and announced the December release of the 8.0 version of its software-as-a-service (SaaS) CRM application. The new release embraces RightNow’s roots in targeting customer service organizations, and helps more clearly position the company within the increasingly complex SaaS landscape.
